I have never played with any stomp box before, so I didn’t quite know what to expect. But at the $100 price it seemed to be an affordable experiment. This set is between a 25 watt Peavey Rage amp and a Ibanez Artcore guitar, also there is a Peavey Raven guitar with upgraded pickups in the mix. My first impression was not so good. At first the connectors and dials “crackeled” every time I came near them, after a few days that cleared up. I guess I needed to wear the new off them. From the get go the effects were really cool, it just took a while to get a sound that I really wanted to work with. If you have never tried this kind of thing, I would suggest that you set everything to about 1/4 to 1/3 settings and start there. Also spend most of your time, at first, with the reverb it seems to have the most effect by far. The boxes are made of plastic, but it seems like good quality heavy plastic that can take some use. There is a very slight hiss, the room has to be quiet and guitar not playing to hear it. Some of my friends say that is to be expected, I don’t hear it while playing. It has taken me a week or so to really get the kind of sound that I was looking for, but it seems to be in there. I did not like the set at first but it has grown on me. I have gotten to like it. If it is a Jazz sound that you are after, you might like to try this. I also got a Beringer Cromatic tuner to go with this set, liked it from the get go.
